Newcastle United urged to submit an improved offer of €60m-€80m PL unstoppable striker

Newcastle United were asked to make a better offer for Goncalo Ramos, who is valued at €80 million, because Benfica will not accept a €60 million cost.

Newcastle United must make a better offer to entice Gioncalo Ramos away from Benfica, according to A Bola via Sport Witness. The Magpies are willing to spend roughly €60 million for the striker, but the Portuguese club wants at least €80 million.

Many reports in Portugal last week said that an unnamed club had withdrawn a €60 million deal for in-demand striker Goncalo Ramos. Newcastle United was rumored to be the club to present the idea, but nothing seemed to substantiate the report.

The Magpies are interested in the striker and are willing to ‘attack’ for his signature. Eddie Howe sees Ramos as a market opportunity and may press the club to sign him. Newcastle United’s team isn’t lacking in forwards, with Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak both capable of playing the entire season.

However, the €80 million-rated, 22-year-old seemed like a good fit for Howe’s system, but Newcastle Unitdf will have to make a concrete effort to sign him. If indeed they were the club to table the €60 million bid, they must improve to boost their chances of signing Ramos.

Benfica are open to a sale but at their desired price. The Portuguese club are protected with a release clause in Ramos’ contract worth €120 million. They wanted that figure in January but have seemingly lowered it for the summer. Manchester United are also keen on Ramos as Erik ten Hag continues to search for a new striker. Benfica chief Rui Costa believes the Red Devils are ready to pay the €80 million required to sign the striker.

Manchester United are not yet totally committed to bringing in a new striker as they seek to settle their goalkeeping crisis. If Ramos is available once they complete the signing of a new goalkeeper, the Portugal international might become an alternative.

As a result, if Newcastle wants to avoid problems and sign Ramos, they must submit at least a €80 million proposal. As of now, the Magpies are not considering other striker possibilities, although Benfica’s asking price may be prohibitively expensive.

Newcastle United has also demonstrated that they are not a club that overpays. In fact, they have walked away from any negotiations for the advertised fees and may do so again in the Ramos case.
