Newcastle United are seriously mulling over the possibility of signing 27-year-old Manchester City electrifying midfielder

According to rumors, Newcastle United are considering loaning Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips to the club next season.

Phillips joined City from Leeds United in a move worth up to £45 million last summer. The 27-year-old England international won the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League in his first season at the Etihad Stadium, as Pep Guardiola’s team won the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.

Phillips, on the other hand, struggled to make an impression in Guardiola’s starting lineup on a consistent basis throughout the 2022/23 season. The midfielder spent the majority of his 21 games on the bench, and his manager stated that he returned from the winter World Cup in Qatar overweight.

When Phillips joined City last summer, he signed a six-year contract. Despite having five years left on his contract, uncertainty surrounds where the midfielder will be playing next season.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle are considering a loan transfer for City midfielder Phillips. Conor Gallagher of Chelsea is also a target for a loan swap.

In other news, new Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca is rumored to be interested in signing teenage defender Callum Doyle from his former team. The 19-year-old City youth product spent last season on loan at Coventry City in the Championship.

Leicester are reportedly interested in signing the teenager as Maresca continues to rebuild the Foxes’ team this summer, according to The Athletic. For the first time in nearly a decade, the East Midlands club is preparing for a season in English football’s second division.

According to the report, Leicester are interested in bringing Doyle to the King Power Stadium on a permanent basis, with the versatile defender valued between £7 million and £10 million.
