Tottenham wants Arsenal target according to FABRIZIO ROMANO

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are both interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba this summer.

Arsenal will now compete with Tottenham Hotspur for the signing of Edmond Tapsoba from Bayer Leverkusen.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who claims on Twitter that interest in Tapsoba is growing.

According to Romano, a number of Premier League clubs are currently monitoring Tapsoba ahead of the summer transfer season.

Tapsoba has been scouted by Arsenal and Tottenham in recent Leverkusen games, according to Romano.

According to Romano, the race is ‘totally open’ for Tapsoba, who maintains that Leverkusen would only sell for ‘massive’ money.

Leverkusen will face competition for Moussa Diaby and Florian Wirtz this summer, but they certainly want to keep Tapsoba.

Edmond Tapsoba’s transfer to Tottenham makes more sense.

This summer, Arsenal really needs another right-footed center back.

Rob Holding appears set to leave Arsenal this summer, and more quality competition for William Saliba is required.

However, Tapsoba will be quite expensive this summer, and the potential fee would be far too high to spend on competition.

With Tapsoba expecting a starting role in his next move, Arsenal may not be the best fit for him.

Tottenham, on the other hand, requires defensive reinforcements, and significant funds must be spent on new center backs.

Cristian Romero possesses quality and promise, but Davinson Sanchez appears to be on his way out, and Clement Lenglet is just on loan.

Tapsoba stands 6ft 4in tall and has outstanding speed, which might make him an effective partner for Romero.

One difficulty could be that Tottenham hires Arne Slot, who prefers to play with a right and left foot at the back.

Under Slot, left-footed defenders Marcos Senesi and David Hancko have succeeded, and he would undoubtedly want a similar player at Spurs.

Tapsoba, like Romero, is a right-footer, which may need Slot to alter his build from the back.
