Manchester United management confirms exit on cards leaving head coach transfer

Christian Eriksen has revealed he’s not in discussions about extending his stay at Manchester United beyond the 2024/25 season.

The veteran Danish midfielder, 32, is set to become a free agent next summer and has hinted at a fresh adventure away from Old Trafford while on international duty with Denmark. Eriksen was a part of Erik ten Hag’s early haul when he took over the reins at United back in 2022, bagging the midfielder on a free transfer after his inspiring stint at Brentford post-heart scare.

The ex-Spurs star has donned the United shirt for 80 matches during his three-year tenure, scoring six goals and registering 16 assists. He was pivotal in Ten Hag’s debut season at Old Trafford, when the Red Devils nabbed the Carabao Cup and secured an impressive third-place finish in the league table.

But last season he saw his role at the club somewhat diminish, as United stumbled to a woeful eighth-place finish, fuelling transfer whispers with clubs like Ajax, Anderlecht and Real Betis reportedly sniffing around, reports the Express. Despite the rumour mill churning, Eriksen maintained ditching United never crossed his mind this summer, and the club didn’t drop any hints they wanted him out either.
