BREAKING NEWS: Barcelona’s €40 million-rated star not going anywhere amid Man United, Newcastle

There have been rumours swirling about the future of FC Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen in recent weeks.

The 27-year-old Danish international has been tipped as the player that the club might sacrifice in the summer to generate revenue, given that Ronald Araujo is untouchable while Jules Kounde is Xavi’s personal bet and Inigo Martinez would not bring much income.

Several clubs are interested in signing Christensen as well, with the centre-half still in demand in the Premier League.

Christensen not going anywhere

Despite the speculations, Tipsbladet in Denmark is claiming that all the reports of Barcelona considering selling Christensen in the near future are pure fabrication.

The 27-year-old Danish star is not going anywhere, as both the club and the player are extremely satisfied with their partnership thus far.

Barcelona signed Andreas Christensen on a free transfer a year and a half ago and selling him would mean that the entire transfer fee would be chalked down as profit in the books.

It is one of the reasons why there have been constant speculations about his future, given the Catalan giants’ financial situation.

Manchester United, for one, are understood to have shown interest in the ex-Chelsea ace, while Newcastle United are also admirers of his and would even be open to signing him this month.

But, as per the aforementioned report, Christensen will not be sold by Barcelona, neither now nor in the summer.

Despite there being suggestions that Christensen might be unhappy sitting on the bench, the report states that the Danish international is very happy at Barcelona.

After all, he has started 14 of the club’s 19 La Liga games this season and is still an essential player for Xavi’s side.

The 27-year-old is believed to enjoy the complete trust of the Barcelona coaching staff and the management and is extremely happy.

Christensen has a contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2026, and as things stand, a departure is not on his mind.
