Sloan Park hosted the 17th edition of the Arizona Fall League Fall Stars Game on Sunday night. Baseball’s top prospects put on a show, and Colson Montgomery of the White Sox, who is ranked No. 17 on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 list, won the game’s MVP award as the AL defeated the NL, 6-3.

With a two-run home run that scored the game’s winning run, Will Robertson showed off his strength. At an estimated 400 feet per second, the dinger left the barrel at 100 mph. The American League’s CJ Van Eyk got the game underway. The right-hander struck out Oliver Dunn, Wes Clarke, and Gabriel Rincones Jr. swinging after giving up a leadoff single. In his only at-bat, Dasan Brown (TOR No. 29) grounded out, and Damiano Palmegiani (TOR No. 18) also did so. Despite not pitching, lefty Ricky Tiedemann (TOR No. 1) was chosen for the Fall Stars Game.

In his lone at-bat, Dominic Keegan (TB No. 9) struck out after three innings behind the plate. Pitching one inning, Logan Workman gave up one run while striking out two. In his two at-bats, Carson Williams (TB No. 2) struck out.

The Red Sox
Zack Penrod threw one strikeout in his second inning of work. He gave up just one hit, a double to Jakob Marsee, but was out as he attempted to stretch it into a triple. After Ryan Bliss singled in the third inning, Corey Rosier used his quickness to advance from first base to third base.

After entering the seventh inning, Trey McGough gave up a single and then quickly finished the inning with two strikeouts. Despite being chosen for the Fall Stars Game, Carter Baumler (BAL No. 22) did not participate.

Yankees:
Caleb Durbin pinch hit and played second base as he came into the fourth inning. In his three at-bats, he was hitless.

Kyle Manzardo (CLE No. 2) displayed his strength with a 433-foot home run one day after he hammered 15 dingers in the AFL Home Run Derby. After going 1 for 3 in the game, the first baseman added another RBI on a sacrifice fly. After reaching on a walk, Chase DeLauter (CLE No. 4) went 0-for-2 with a strikeout.

Kings
In his two at-bats, Peyton Wilson (KC No. 26), who entered the game as a defensive replacement, failed to reach base.

When Jace Jung (DET No. 4) replaced him at third base defensively, he had one at-bat and struck out swinging. This fall, Jung is slashing.244/.446/.366 after walking 14 times. Despite being chosen for the Fall Stars Game, pitchers Wilmer Flores (DET No. 7) and Jackson Jobe (DET No. 3) did not participate.

In his lone at-bat, Twins Kala’i Rosario—the 2023 AFL Home Run Derby winner—struck out. With six home runs, the No. 19 Twins prospect is tied for the league lead with teammate Aaron Sabato.

In the fourth inning, White Sox Colson Montgomery (CWS No. 1) launched a 409-foot home run to set the tone. MLB No. 17, the Fall League’s top prospect, went two for two.

and earned the Fall Stars Game MVP. Jordan Leasure provided an inning of relief in the eighth inning and struck out Ivan Melendez and Sterlin Thompson. Jake Eder (CWS No. 5) recorded the win for the AL and struck out two.
