The latest Nottingham Forest news as Lingard has been training with his former loan club over the summer but could be set for a move overseas
West Ham United manager David Moyes is not expecting to sign former Nottingham Forest man Jesse Lingard this season, saying he has enough players in his position.
Lingard is available on a free transfer after leaving Forest in the summer. He spent one season at the City Ground after joining on a free transfer from Manchester United, the Reds beat off competition from West Ham to sign the midfielder
Injury and loss of form saw the 30-year-old feature just 20 times in all competitions for Forest over the campaign. His final appearance came as a late substitute in the 2-0 home loss against former club Manchester United back in April.

Since leaving the City Ground in the summer, Lingard has been training with West Ham, where he spent a successful time on loan during the second half of the 2020/21 season. Speculation grew over if Lingard could complete a move to the London Stadium, but that now seems to have been dismissed by Moyes.
“I am quite comfortable, more than relaxed with it,” he said following the loss to Liverpool on Sunday. “We like Jesse a lot, I just don’t know if we need another player in the position.”
Lingard is currently training with Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq, the club managed by former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard. The side have confirmed that the player will be training with them for a month as he looks to impress enough to earn a longer-term contract.
The 30-year-old came up through the ranks at Manchester United, and played a total of 232 games for the club. He has also previously spent loan spells with Leicester City, Birmingham City, Derby County and Brighton and Hove Albion earlier in his career.
