Sky reporter shares what Amanda Staveley did immediately after Newcastle’s 8-0 win v Sheffield Utd

Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Staveley could not hide her delight after the Magpies’ 8-0 win against Sheffield United.

Staveley was at Bramall Lane to witness history, as Newcastle put eight past the Blades with eight different players finding the net.

The Magpies were relentless on Sunday, with Anthony Gordon stealing the show with his performance off the bench.

But he was not the only Toon player to impress against Sheffield United. Sean Longstaff got himself a goal to cap off a brilliant week for him, while Sven Botman managed to score his first ever Toon goal on what was his 50th appearance for the club.

It was a performance that left Newcastle fans buzzing, with the travelling Toon Army even debuting a new chant at Bramall Lane.

It was a special afternoon on the road, and one that Staveley was delighted to be in attendance for after missing the win over Brentford.

After the game, Sky Sports presenter Dave Jones shared how Staveley was reacting to the win whilst they did their analysis of the game. He stated that the Toon director was ‘beaming‘ after the 8-0 victory.

And Staveley took her delight to the dressing room. She was involved in the traditional post-win team photo, while she also had a message for the players.

According to Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie, Longstaff told him that Staveley came into the dressing room after the game to tell the players that they had made history by having eight different scorers in a Premier League match.Sean Longstaff has revealed that club owner Amanda Staveley came in the dressing room after the match and broke the news to the players they’d broken the Premier League record with 8 different scorers in one match #NUFC 8️⃣Keith Downie (@SkySports_Keith) September 24, 2023

It now means that this Newcastle United team are part of the Premier League record books, which will certainly be one to tell the grandkids! At the time, the players will not have realised that they were making history, but they will no doubt be thrilled with their accomplishment.

But the most important thing is the three points, with back-to-back wins lifting Newcastle up to eighth in the league.
