Nottingham Forest news as the Reds face Manchester City in Premier League

Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper has chosen his team to face Manchester City in today’s Premier League clash.

In their first game back following the international break, the Reds were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Burnley on Monday night. The hosts came from behind to earn a point at the City Ground thanks to Callum cccc debut goal for the club.

It may not have been the outcome they had hoped for, but it has been an encouraging start to the season for Forest. Cooper has also stated that his new-look squad would take time to gel and for some of the summer signings to adjust to English football.

Hudson-Odoi and fellow deadline-day signing Ibrahim Sangare made their debuts against the Clarets, while Anthony Elanga and Gonzalo Montiel made their league debuts in the Garibaldi. Cooper also used a different formation for that game, going with a 4-2-3-1 system.

The Reds, though, will play three at the back against the reigning champions this afternoon. Cooper has been bolstered by the return of Serge Aurier from injury and Willy Boly from illness, with the defenders making up two of five changes to the starting lineup.

Aurier appears to be the starting right-sided center-back, with Boly in the middle and Moussa Niakhate on the left ahead of goalkeeper Matt Turner. Nuno Tavares will start as left wing-back, with Ola Aina shifting to the right flank.
