£55m offer for star has been told there is no point leaving Nottingham Forest this summer unless it’s for club in the top six PL

Brennan Johnson, a Wales international, has been informed there is no point in leaving Nottingham Forest this summer unless it is for a side in the Premier League’s top six.

Johnson, 21, has already attracted a £30 million bid from Brentford this off-season. Everton, West Ham, and Aston Villa are also rumored to be interested.

Johnson had a remarkable season in the Premier League last season, helping Steve Cooper’s side avoid relegation. He scored eight league goals and has a promising future for both club and country.

Former Liverpool striker Nigel Jemson has encouraged the attacker to stay at the City Ground unless a big-name team comes in for him, while fellow pundit Darren Fletcher has called a £30m deal for the Wales international a “disgrace.”

“Brennan is a fantastic player who has had a fantastic season.” He has a lot of potential. Everyone has a cost. “I’m not sure what that is from the standpoint of the football club,” Jemson remarked.

“I see Brentford as a step back.” He has a family here, and he is adored. He has to be targeting the top six or seven clubs, else there’s no point in going.

“He’s at a forward-thinking club with a good manager.” He’s representing Wales. He has at least another season here before considering leaving, unless the club receives an offer they would accept to put back into the squad.”

Fletcher went even farther on NottinghamLive’s Garibaldi Red podcast, mocking the offer made for the attacker. “When I saw the offer, I thought someone was making fun of me,” he added. If Anthony Gordon cost £55 million (reportedly £45 million), how can Brennan Johnson be worth £30 million? Compare the numbers and performances of Brennan Johnson and Anthony Gordon as Premier League players.

“If anyone wants to take Brennan Johnson from here, they must first obtain Anthony Gordon money.”

“If they don’t, I believe the club would be insane to entertain it.” Goals are the most precious commodity in every Premier League squad. Forest has a player with a lot of potential. Brennan has the ability to influence and win games. It’s a ridiculous offer.

“If a top six club comes in with an offer of £55 million or more, you might be obliged to talk about it, but where it is now is a disgrace, and they should not entertain it.” I doubt the owner answered the phone from Brentford.

“I believe Brennan would benefit from at least another year here.” Hopefully for a longer period of time. He is held in high regard here. He recently purchased a home, and I don’t believe many players are looking to leave. There is no team in the Premier League where the players are greeted and loved as they are here. That, I believe, is important to all of them. I doubt Brennan Johnson is hammering on the door, demanding to move somewhere else.”
