The England hopeful has been in fantastic form for West Ham this season, scoring three goals and contributing one assist in his opening five outings.
However, at his pre-match press conference on Friday lunchtime, David Moyes conceded that the forward was a serious doubt for the next Anfield test.
That is due to Bowen contracting an illness earlier this week, which prevented him from playing in West Ham’s 3-1 Europa League triumph over Backs Topola in Stratford on Thursday evening.
“Jarrod has had a virus, and we’ll see how he is for the weekend,” Moyes admitted when questioned about his injured or previously unavailable players.
Aside from that, the manager has almost a full squad to pick from for the Liverpool game, with defender (and Liverpool fan) Aaron Cresswell his only uncertainty.
“The others, I think we seem to be okay,” he continued. “Aaron had to leave with a hamstring injury, so we’ll check him out – but other than that, we’re probably fine.”
We’ll have more from Moyes’ press conference soon.
