Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs has laid down the gauntlet to Nathan Fraser to get more minutes for the first-team at O’Neil…
The striker recently made his debut for the club when he came on against Blackpool in the Carabao Cup.
And Fraser, of course, actually managed to get himself on the scoresheet that night.
That was a fantastic moment for the youngster, who is currently one of the brightest young prospects at the whole club.
Fraser has been impressing for the U21s, and he caught the eye in pre-season with the first-team.
He has now been promoted to the first-team squad and will act as the fourth choice striker – and Hobbs has challenged the youngster to get minutes under Gary O’Neil…

Sporting director Hobbs has been speaking about the talented 19-year-old following his recent promotion.
Wolves are putting their faith in Fraser, having failed to land a striker at the end of the transfer window.
Wanderers attempted to sign Che Adams, but Southampton blocked the move in the end.
The club then made a last-ditch attempt to sign Boulaye Dia from Salernitana, but were instantly rebuffed and then slated publicly by their sporting director Morgan De Sanctis.
Hobbs is a big believer in Fraser, and hopes he can feature more for the first-team this season.
He said (Wolves Weekly): “Nathan is a boy who has almost made the absolute most of his ability. Dedicatede to being a professional footballer and getting the most out of himself. It’s a real testament to him to get this opportunity.
“His next challenge now is to earn minutes on the pitch and try and solidify himself as part of the squad. Great reward for what he’s done to date, but the cliche is ‘now the hard work starts’. Realistically his job is to show that he deserves to get minutes in the first-team.”
Hobbs goes on to brand Fraser a ‘top professional’.
With careful management, Fraser could become genuine first-team option for Wolves
It is great that Fraser has been promoted to the first-team squad.
He’s been on a brilliant journey in the academy and looks a fantastic young player.
Fraser is a ‘powerful’ striker and potentially could be well suited to the Premier League.
Wolves need to just manage him carefully.
Having him as the fourth choice striker seems like a good role for him. There is potential for him to make the odd appearance here and there to build up his experience.
