Nottingham Forest are one of several clubs taking a look at Boca Juniors youngste

According to 90Min, Forest are in the mix to try and sign the 19-year-old defender. No fewer than 16 clubs are keen on signing the player with a number of them from the Premier League.

The teenager is a product of the Boca Juniors youth academy. During the current campaign, he’s made 19 appearances, registering three goal contributions and collecting six yellow cards.

Forest are likely to go in search of a new left-back in future transfer windows. They currently have Ola Aina who is a versatile option and Nuno Tavares who is only on loan at the moment.

There will come a time when Forest look at another option though and right now Barco could be a cheap option. Right now, he has a release clause of £8 million, although his current club are hoping he will agree a new deal that gets rid of that.

Forest aren’t considered the frontrunners for the player at the moment. That mantle goes to Brighton who have a bit of a track record with signing players of this nature at bargain prices.

Forest want Barco but other clubs are keen

This looks like the sort of signing that Forest would be very keen to make these days. They’ve left no stone unturned with the South American market in recent months and they’ve added some quality players.

A South American football expert, Ronan Manning, called the player ‘exceptional’, and he does appear to be a burgeoning talent for the future.

Barco looks like an exciting player and one that Forest would welcome. At £8 million he’d represent seriously good value for money and perhaps this would be a wise move to make
