Molineux legend Steve Bull has praised Hwang Hee-chan for his start to the new season.
Wolves have had a tricky start, following the exit of Julen Lopetegui just days before the new campaign.
Gary O’Neil has come in and tried to steady the ship.
He has done well to an extent.
But it’s just one win so far, with three defeats.
O’Neil will be hoping that the international break will have come at a good time for Wolves.
It is certainly a good chance for him to work on plenty of things in training.
But one downside is that he is currently missing a number of players, who are with their national teams.
One such player is Hwang, who has really made an impression in the last few weeks…
Steve Bull likes what he’s seen from Hwang Hee-chan so far
Hwang has probably been Wolves’ best player so far this term. He has definitely been one of the most impactful, at least.
Hwang, who was a Lopetegui favourite, has scored two Premier League goals so far this term.
He appears sharp, and ready to fight for Wolves.
And he’s got the seal of approval from Wolves’ all-time top goalscorer Bull, who says of Hwang in his latest Express & Star column: “It was good to see Hwang Hee-chan score (vs Crystal Palace). He’s a bright spark and it was a good goal. It may have come off his shoulder but I’ll take any goal at the moment!
“He’s showing the other players that despite being on the bench, he is ready to go.”
Hwang started on the bench against Palace, having gone off at half-time in the previous game against Everton.
He had a slight hamstring issue, which meant he was only fit enough to start from the bench against the Eagles.
So far, that game against Everton has been his only start for Wolves this term.
Hwang has been great for Wolves so far this term
It’s great to see Hwang getting among the goals for Wolves.
He is a very hardworking player, and someone many supporters find easy to get behind due to the way he plays.
Hwang has been looking a decent threat so far this term. And he is probably the most natural finisher at the club right now.
Surely Gary O’Neil must be considering starting him against Liverpool after the international break.
