Nottingham Forest captain Joe Worrall is desperate to put pen to paper on a new contract at the City Ground. The Reds player will be out of contract in the summer of 2024.
The 26-year-old is Forest through and through. He bleeds the red and white of the football club and would dearly love to pledge his long-term future.
Forest need to get this one sorted with Worrall. Right now, he’s playing the best football he’s ever played for the Reds and is leading the team by example.
Yesterday, the defender was on TalkSPORT being quizzed about club affairs. He was asked about his contract negotiations with him and the club and he’s keen to get things sorted.
Worrall told TalkSPORT: “Nothing has been announced yet. We’ve not had anything from the club yet but are looking to extend with Forest. It’s my club and it’s where I want to play football so hopefully something can get finalised soon.”
Forest have to try and get this one sorted sharpish. Worrall is playing some of the football of his career and the Reds can’t afford to let this drag on much longer.
The 26-year-old has years left ahead of him. It’s been a slow process for Worrall in the Premier League but ultimately he’s now showing his class.
Forest are keen to reward good form and Worrall also helps the club hit the homegrown quota. Having lost Brennan Johnson this summer, they won’t want to lose another academy graduate.
Worrall deserves a new contract. He gives his all whenever he’s called upon and right now he’s proving to be a captain fantastic for Forest.
Steve Cooper is a huge fan of Worrall. As a result, it surely won’t be long before Worrall signs on the dotted line.
