Wolves may no longer be able to bring in new players, but they can still lose them – and a claim has been made today about interest from Saudi Arabia in Pablo Sarabia.
The Saudi window is still open, which means there is potential for Wolves and other clubs to have their resolve tested.
Wanderers have already offload one player to Saudi.
Ruben Neves completed a move to Al Hilal at the start of the summer to get the ball rolling for Wolves on balancing the books.
But now, there is potential for another player to head to the Gulf state…
Al-Ettifaq eyeing move for Pablo Sarabia
According to journalist Ben Jacobs today, Al-Ettifaq are considering a move for Pablo Sarabia.
He says that no agreement has been reached yet with the player.
But the interest is apparently ‘concrete’.
Sarabia was a £4 million signing for Wolves at the start of the year.
He came in from Paris Saint-Germain under Julen Lopetegui.
Should Sarabia complete a move, then he would link up with Steven Gerrard. Players to have made moves there this summer are Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum, Moussa Dembele and Jack Hendry.
Wolves must not sell Pablo Sarabia
So Al-Ettifaq could potentially bid for Sarabia.
But Wolves must resist temptation to sell, purely because the club are now not in a position to sign a replacement.
Sarabia has not started the new season well in the Premier League.
But Wolves can’t be offloading him at this stage. Especially with Daniel Podence having just been loaned out to Olympiacos.
Ideally, Sarabia will not leave and he will come back after the international break ready and raring to go for Wolves after an underwhelming start.
