Nottingham Forest facing transfer war with Chelsea winger nearly by clubs in Saudi Arabia

Nottingham Forest may lose rumoured transfer target Callum Hudson-Odoi after two Saudi teams “approached” him.

The Chelsea winger progressed through the West London club’s development system before making his first senior appearance for the Blues in an FA Cup tie against Newcastle United in 2018. He has appeared in almost 70 games for Chelsea.

Hudson-Odoi spent the second half of the season on loan at Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, but he struggled to find his feet, providing only one assist and failing to score a goal.

Forest have been linked with a summer move for the 22-year-old with The Daily Mail reporting earlier this month that Chelsea want £10million for his services.

But a major transfer rival has emerged which could see the Reds miss out on the Chelsea player. Journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted on Tuesday, claiming that Hudson Odoi “has been approached by two Saudi clubs today.”

He maintains that “talks have not yet started on the player side” and that it is “not clear yet” whether he will accept the move. During the summer transfer window, Saudi Arabian interest in Premier League talent has become a major story.

Ruben Neves will leave Wolves for Al Hilal in a rumored £47 million deal alongside Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante.Golo Kante, Edouard Mendy, Hakim Ziyech, and Kalidou Koulibaly are also expected to relocate to the Middle East. It comes after Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United to join Al Nassr at the conclusion of last year.
