Wolves are being linked with a shock, last-gasp move for highly rated Barcelona winger Ez Abde.
The Morocco international is potentially going to leave the Camp Nou tonight.
The club ideally don’t want that to happen.
But at the moment Barcelona are trying to get two deals across the line against a poor financial situation.
They are trying to bring in Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo.
In order to bring in these two players and get them registered, Barca are set to offload Abde.
And Wolves are given a mention as a possible last-minute destination for the youngster…
Wolves linked with shock deadline day move for Ez Abde
According to Spanish publication Onda Cero, Wolves could be an option for Abde with just a few hours remaining in the summer transfer window.
Wolves are mentioned, as are fellow Premier League clubs Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.
From Spain, there is interest from Osasuna, who took Abde on loan last season, and Real Betis.
The publication suggests that a move to one of the Spanish clubs is probably more likely.
Abde would be able to earn more in the Premier League.
But there is the question of adaptation in England and also ‘problems with the language.
Wolves signing Abde would amazing
There is always at least one fairly exciting but perhaps unrealistic transfer story on deadline day, and this is probably one of those for Wolves fans
It would be amazing if the club were able to somehow bring Abde – described by Barca via their website as ‘a tricky winger who is excellent on the ball and two footed’ – to Molineux.
He is a fantastic young player.
Maybe it’s not totally impossible. We have already seen Ansu Fati sign for Brighton from Barca.
Realistically though it doesn’t happen.
As long as Wolves successfully bring in Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, most Wolves fans would probably be fairly happy with the club’s deadline day.
