Deal as 24-year-old player snubs clubs to join Tottenham tonight in training

Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is now being linked with Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.

According to journalist Sami Mokbel on The Mail’s Transfer Deadline Livestream, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in making a late move for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.

Mokbel has claimed that in the last 48 hours, Chalobah, who can also operate as a defensive midfielder, appeared on the list of players Tottenham want to sign.

The reporter has said that the 24-year-old could potentially move to Nottingham Forest or Tottenham on the final day of the summer transfer window.

Sky Sports had earlier reported this evening that Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Chalobah and have “inquired” about him.

The report claimed that the defender was potentially going to join Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, but that move is now off.

Mokbel said, as transcribed by TBR: “Just going back to Forest, Trevoh Chalobah.

“His versatility, we know all about it he can play across the back four and he can even play in the midfield.

“I had a tip this morning that even Tottenham have had a dalliance with him over the past 48 hours.”

The reporter added: “A lot will depend now on Palhinha moving forward, Hojbjerg, Chalobah – now he can’t go to Bayern Munich, he could be going to Forest or potentially Tottenham we hear.”

Trevoh Chalobah unlikely to join Tottenham Hotspur from Chelsea tonight

We do not think that Trevoh Chalobah will leave Chelsea for Tottenham Hotspur so late in the summer transfer window.

If Bayern were interested in the 24-year-old today, then it is very likely that the German giants will continue to monitor him in the coming weeks and months.

Perhaps Bayern could come again for Chalobah in January 2024.

It would make sense for Chalobah not to rush into a decision tonight and to be patient in the coming months before the window opens again in January.
