The talented winger was released alongside the likes of Mo Sangare and Tom Allan last summer and trained with a number of North East non-league clubs before joining Welsh side The New Saints.
Wilson enjoyed a productive year in Wales as he helped his side complete a league and cup double, picking up their player of the season in the process. His form attracted interest from elsewhere and the 23-year-old has now put pen-to-paper on a deal with Bradford to become Mark Hughes’ eighth signing of the summer.
After his signing was confirmed, Wilson said: “This is a big club that should be a lot higher up in the leagues, with a great manager and fanbase, so it was difficult to say no. I love playing in front of big crowds. I did it a few times at Newcastle, and it really gets your adrenaline going.”
