Ange says 36-year-old star sent words to club about leaving Tottenham this morning

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has suggested that Hugo Lloris is unlikely to be part of his squad for this season.

Ange Postecoglou has told Football.London that it is unlikely that Hugo Lloris will stay at Tottenham Hotspur beyond the end of the summer transfer window.

Postecoglou has noted that it is unlikely that he will have three goalkeepers in his final Premier League list.

Guglielmo Vicario joined Tottenham in the summer transfer window and is now the number one goalkeeper at the North London club.

Fraser Forster is an option for Spurs head coach Postecoglou, who also has Alfie Whiteman at his disposal.

Lloris has been on the books of Tottenham since 2012 and is under contract at the Premier League club until the summer of 2024.

However, earlier this summer, Spurs said that the goalkeeper is free to explore other opportunities.

Lloris, though, is still at Tottenham.

And Postecoglou has noted that it is unlikely that the £110,000-a-week (SalarySport) Frenchman will be part of his squad this season.

The Tottenham boss said when asked if Lloris could stay: “As I said, you can’t just have any number of players you want. There is a list and it is unlikely we will have three goalkeepers on our final Premier League list.”

Lloris has been superb for Spurs over the years, but in recent times, he has made costly mistakes.

And he is 36 now.

Tottenham need to move on from Lloris, and the goalkeeper himself needs to find a new club.
