Sky Sports’ Keith Downie has confirmed that a move is close, with Eddie Howe admitting that something is in the pipeline in this morning’s press conference.

Fraser has been training away from the first-team all year and looks set to spend the 20232/4 season in the Championship. As he earns around £75,000 per-week, his departure will create some space on the club’s wage bill,

although it remains to be seen what percentage of his salary Southampton will pay.

The Scottish international had been linked with Celtic, Empoli and Norwich in recent weeks, but it looks like he’ll be heading to St Mary’s. This is the second deal we’ve struck with the Saints this summer, with Tino Livramento arriving for £32m earlier this month.

Asked about outgoings just moments ago, Howe said: “There may be something with Ryan happen regarding Southampton. Apart from that, that’s all I know at the minute.
