Top clubs from Saudi Arabia are offering $65M for Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min

According to ESPN, Al Ittihad is poised to make a play for Tottenham Hotspur striker Son Heung-Min, with an opening price of around €60 million ($65 million) plus bonuses.

Top Saudi teams are interested in a number of Premier League stars this summer, and Son is the latest high-profile figure to be approached.

According to the source, Son has been offered a four-year contract for €30 million per season. There is some hope among Saudi Pro League clubs that the 30-year-old may be enticed to join Al Ittihad, who are close to finalising a deal to capture Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante and have already signed former Real Madrid talisman Karim Benzema.

However, pursuing a transaction will be difficult, since sources have told ESPN that the Spurs would not be interested in listening to an approach if a formal proposal is made as planned. When ESPN contacted Son’s reps, they did not react immediately.

Son’s current Tottenham contract expires in 2025, and he remains a vital player for the club, scoring 145 goals in 371 games since coming from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2015.

Ange Postecoglou, the club’s new coach, is already facing competition from Real Madrid, Manchester United, and, according to reports, Paris Saint-Germain to keep striker Harry Kane at the club.
