Fabrizio Romano reveals Tottenham at the verge to miss out €23m big star

Tottenham Hotspur look set to miss out on Ernest Nuamah with the youngster completing a medical with Lyon.

Ernest Nuamah is poised to sign for Lyon despite receiving interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain.

That is according to French newspaper L’Equipe, who claim that Nuamah will be joining Lyon on loan for a year from Nordsjaelland.

The deal will include a mandatory purchase clause worth around €23million (£19.6million) with Nuamah making a big move to France.

L’Equipe’s report claims that Nuamah also had strong interest from Tottenham and PSG, who attempted to ramp up their move late on.

Nuamah has decided on Lyon though and Fabrizio Romano claims that Nuamah has completed his medical with Lyon.

Romano claims the numbers are a little higher; €25million (£21.3million) plus €5million (£4.2million) in add-ons, taking the deal to around £25.5million.

A contract until 2028 is now on offer with Nuamah seemingly on the verge of being announced as a new Lyon player.

Who is Tottenham Hotspur target Ernest Nuamah?

Nordsjaelland have really benefited from their partnership with the Right to Dream academy over in Ghana.

Mohammed Kudus and Kamaldeen Sulemana are two such success stories, making Nordsjaelland big money.

Add in the sales of Andreas Schjelderup, Mikkel Damsgaard, Andreas Skov Olsen, Mathias Jensen and Stanislav Lobotka and you can see that Nordsjaelland have a real eye for talent.

Nuamah, hailed as a ‘big talent’ by Yussif Chibsah, arrived in Denmark from the Right to Dream academy only last year but dazzled last season.

The versatile forward hit 15 goals in 34 games last season and started his term with five goals in the first four games.

Nuamah has made a huge impact at just 19 and has now earned himself a big move to France.

Tottenham are being linked with a number of young, speedy, versatile forwards and Nuamah would have fit the bill.

It looks like Tottenham will miss out though and may need to keep tabs on his progress over in France having failed to land Nuamah this time.
