The Bundesliga club are apparently keen to try and poach the South Korea international, and bring him back to a division he is quite familiar with.
Hwang joined Wolves in 2021, arriving from RB Leipzig where he had spent one season.
Since signing for Wolves, Hwang has made 65 appearances and scored 10 goals. He has also laid on four assists for teammates.
While not prolific, Hwang has been showing that he is the most likely player to score a goal for Wolves of late.
He was on target at the weekend against Brighton, and calls are growing for him to start against Everton.
Wolves stance on potential Hwang exit now revealed
This morning, Express & Star journalist Liam Keen took to Twitter to comment on the speculation linking Hwang with Wolfsburg.
He does not suggest that Wolfsburg don’t have any interest, but he does state that Wolves have no interest in a sale.
He wrote: “Few reports on interest in Hwang Hee-chan, but Wolves consider him not for sale.”
“As with Mario Lemina, it would take inflated bids for the club to consider selling any key player now.”
Wolves set to keep key stars, but huge offers could still come in
Wolves’ stance over Hwang is no surprise given there is now just over a week left in the transfer window.
The club just cannot be losing key players at this stage.
Having said that, Wolves’ financial situation will mean that huge offers for players will probably have to be considered by the club, which is concerning.
Wolfsburg are unlikely to offer a massive fee for Hwang.
But is a top Premier League club decides to come sniffing one of Wolves’ players then that could be an issue.
The top clubs have been shelling out huge sums this summer, so hopefully they don’t target anyone from Molineux.
