Tottenham has made an open bid of £47 million for Arsenal’s star player.

With all that in mind, here are the latest transfer rumours from the Emirates…

Tottenham are looking for a replacement for Balogun.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Tottenham are pondering a surprise deal for Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun. Tottenham are looking for a striker after selling England captain Harry Kane to Bayern Munich for an initial €100 million (£86.2 million).

Tottenham are said to be interested in Balogun. The 22-year-old American international is now ranked below Havertz, Eddie Nketiah, Leandro Trossard, and Gabriel Jesus in the Emirates’ pecking order (albeit the latter is out with a knee injury).

Arsenal allegedly wants €55 million (£47.4 million) for Balogun, who scored 22 goals on loan with Reims last season. The Gunners are hesitant to loan him out again because he just has two years left on his current contract.

If Arsenal wants to cash in on Balogun, now is undoubtedly the moment to do so, but it’s uncertain whether they’d be willing to transfer him to their biggest rivals. Balogun was not among Arsenal’s 20-man squad for the encounter against Forest.

Former Arsenal player joins Ajax

Former Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom is on the verge of joining Ajax, according to The Athletic. It’s believed the Dutch giants have agreed a €14m (£12.1m) deal with the 27-year-old’s current club, Middlesbrough, with the player signing a five-year contract.

Akpom, 27, spent 16 years at Arsenal and made 12 appearances for the first team – winning two FA Cups – before joining Greek side PAOK in August 2018. He enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at Middlesbrough last season, scoring 29 goals.

Former Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has signed a three-year contract with Turkish side Besiktas. The England international, 29, was a free agent after his six-year spell with Liverpool came to an end earlier this summer.

Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Arsenal from Southampton 12 years ago and stayed for six years, winning three FA Cups and three Community Shields. He made 198 appearances for Arsenal before joining Liverpool in a £35 million deal in August 2017.
