Perr Schuurs, a reported Tottenham Hotspur target, has messaged new Spurs defender Micky van de Ven on Instagram.
Van de Ven made his Tottenham debut yesterday, as Ange Postecoglou’s side drew 2-2 against Brentford.
The Dutchman officially joined Spurs on Monday, and after missing the trip to Barcelona on Tuesday, it appeared that the game against Brentford might come too soon for Van de Ven.
But Postecoglou chose the former Wolfsburg defender, who excelled as he eased into the game at the Gtech Community Stadium.
After Cristian Romero was replaced by Davinson Sanchez due to a head injury, the 22-year-old was forced to play with two defensive mates on the day.
Spurs are expected to pursue another center defender before the transfer season closes, and Perr Schuurs is allegedly on their radar.
After yesterday’s game, the Torino player praised Van de Ven on Instagram.
Van de Ven receives a message from Schuurs.
Van de Ven tweeted on social media after making his Tottenham debut, “First Premier League minutes felt magical.”
“We wished for more but will return next week.” Thank you for coming, and we’ll see you next week.”
And Schuurs responded beneath the new Spurs defender’s post with a fire emoji.
Tottenham have undertaken internal talks about signing Schuurs this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Of course, Tottenham will need to get rid of some players first, with Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga both facing unclear futures.
However, Schuurs would be an excellent addition to fight with Romero and Van de Ven.
The 23-year-old has played for Torino in Italy and could be available this summer for roughly £28 million.
Despite Sanchez’s excellent performance yesterday, Spurs will require another strong option at center-back, and Schuurs fits the criteria perfectly.
