Fans celebrate as Tottenham finally brakes club record to sign PL world star this summer

Tottenham Hotspur will face a difficult assignment in replacing Harry Kane, but the North London club is willing to smash their transfer record in order to do it, according to sources.

Tottenham have been left without a talisman as the Premier League season begins.

What is the most recent Tottenham Hotspur transfer rumor?

Ange Postecoglou has welcomed six new players this summer, including James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario, Alejo Veliz, Manor Solomon, and Ashley Phillips. Spurs, and by extension chairman Daniel Levy, are reportedly preparing to smash their transfer record in order to recruit an A-list successor for Kane this summer, according to Football Insider.

Their current club record is reported to be £63 million, which was spent on Tanguy Ndombele, who has since had a turbulent period, with loan moves abroad seeking to get his career back on track.

Spurs would have been poised to return to Europe in the coming season after recruiting a number of new players. However, Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich appears to have put an end to those preparations.

Losing their talisman has left them short on forwards, and given Kane’s talent, they may now face the consequences of departures during the summer transfer window.

As things stand, Richarlison will most likely play striker, with the Brazilian given the opportunity to play a key role in Postecoglou’s debut season.

With time remaining in the transfer window, Spurs could yet find themselves an adequate replacement for Kane this summer. And that could come in the form of Gift Orban, who reportedly dreams of playing in the Premier League.

Ben Jacobs told Team Talk:

“Gift Orban has said that his dream is to eventually play in the Premier League.

“Of course, he only joined Gent in January, which makes a summer move relatively unlikely, although because of Gent playing in Belgium, there is a realistic chance that a top European club might just be able to put in an offer that’s too good to turn down.

“But at the moment, we have to bear in mind that Gift Orban is only 20 years of age and still developing, and is very happy at Gent. So he’s not desperately trying to force his way out come summer, and therefore that type of transfer barring a very healthy offer, and maybe even a Premier League club taking a risk, because he’s so early in his development, might be more one to watch in 2024.”

Should the Spurs pursue Gift Orban?

Orban wouldn’t be a terrible bit of business for Spurs, who need to replace Kane’s output for years to come rather than finding a quick fix.

The KAA Gent attacker scored 20 goals in 22 games last season despite being only 21 years old. Of course, at his age, Orban may take some time to adjust to life in the Premier League, but the figures suggest that it will be well worth it in the long term.

It remains to be seen whether the player is among Spurs’ choices as they attempt to replace Kane before the summer transfer window closes, with the deadline fast approaching.
