Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has told Joe Rodon and Davinson Sanchez to look for other clubs this summer, according to the Evening Standard.
Rodon and Sanchez are undoubtedly not in Tottenham’s plans for the upcoming season. The North London club is aggressively looking for ways to sell the duo, as the boss has stated.
Joe Rodon, who spent last season on loan at Rennes, has fallen short of expectations. The Welshman was once regarded as a potential star for Tottenham, but it is now best for him to seek a fresh start somewhere.
The same may be said of Davinson Sanchez. Tottenham signed the Colombian defender with high expectations, and although displaying glimpses of potential, he has not lived up to those expectations.
Sanchez’s unreliability has always been a problem. There are times when he appears like a world-class defender, and then there are times when he can’t defend to save his life. Tottenham appear to have had enough.
Both athletes would gain much from restarting their careers somewhere. One thing the duo has going for them is their age. They still have time to relaunch their careers. It just will not happen at Tottenham.
Tottenham have begun to make defensive measures in the transfer market. They have signed Micky van de Ven from VfL Wolfsburg. The tall, pacy Dutch defender would greatly strengthen our defense.
Tottenham cannot afford to go into the upcoming season with a shaky backline. Moving the likes of Sanchez and Rodon could help us obtain some cash, which will enable us buy another centre-back.
