Liverpool kicks off its 2023-24 Premier League season on Sunday (16.30 BST) against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The Reds’ season is set to get underway, with the main goal of breaking back into the top four.Jurgen Klopp’s men underperformed by their own lofty standards in 2022-23, finishing sixth and forfeiting Champions League football.
However, it has been a summer of substantial change at Anfield. Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Roberto Firmino, Fabinho, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are the six senior players who have all helped Liverpool win six major titles.
And, despite the signings of Alexis MacAllister and Dominik Szoboszlai for a combined fee of £95 million, the Reds’ business is far from over.
Klopp’s team is vying with Chelsea for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and Southampton’s Romeo Lavia. The squabble off the field, though, will be put on wait as the two teams battle for three points in west London.
