Leeds United is willing to pay the asking price for Premier League star

Leeds United are willing to pay ‘huge money’ to sign Liverpool defender Nat Phillips to cover for Liam Cooper’s injury.

Leeds United are preparing a bid for Nat Phillips in the coming days, according to Football Insider. The Whites are willing to spend ‘huge money’ to get the 26-year-old Liverpool star, with the Merseysiders willing to transfer the centre-back permanently.

In recent years, Jurgen Klopp has not relied heavily on Nat Phillips. He is currently a member of their team, but for how long? The 26-year-old only made five appearances for the club last season and is no longer in Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

Liverpool is willing to selling the defender but has no plans to loan him out. Phillips should find a fresh challenge with a high pecking order ahead of him and Klopp perhaps bringing in another center-back.

Feyenoord was once interested, but that is no longer the case. Several Premier League and Championship clubs have also shown interest in the 26-year-old Liverpool midfielder. However, no one has proposed a viable solution.

Leeds United were recently in talks with Liverpool about Phillips and might move the negotiations forward by making an offer. The Championship club is willing to pay ‘huge money’ to sign the 26-year-old in the next days, although the details are unknown.

Liverpool knows how to get top dollar for their players during the transfer market, and they will do so again with Phillips. Leeds United have loaned out Tottenham’s Joe Rodon. They re-entered the market after Liam Cooper was sidelined for more than eight weeks.

There has to be a ceiling on how much Leeds will spend for Phillips. In the past, Liverpool has demanded exorbitant fees for undesired players. Given how little the 26-year-old has played in recent years, the fee must be minimal.

Leeds is in need of a defender, and Phillips might be the man. The defender wants to restart his career following a period of inactivity at Liverpool. This move could happen in the following days, depending on how much money the Championship club offers for the defender.
