Tottenham have sent out a strong message to Bayern about Harry Kane’s transfer

Tottenham Hotspur have made it clear that they want Harry Kane to make a decision on his future, despite Bayern Munich’s continued interest.

Postecoglou wants the matter to be fixed.

WHAT OCCURED?The England captain is in the final year of his current contract with Tottenham and has stated that he has “no intention” of signing an extension despite being offered a raise that would send his weekly earnings well above £300,000 when base salary and bonuses are factored in. Tottenham, understandably, is unwilling to let their prized asset go for free next year and has maintained their £100 million ($129 million) valuation of the player.

Ange Postecoglou, the club’s new manager, has confessed that he is “not relaxed” about the situation and wants the transfer drama to be settled as soon as possible.

“It’s fair to say I’m not at ease about it,” they said. I know that anytime I speak to [the press] or whenever Harry speaks, that is the first question you will be asked. So you’ll have to cope with it. I believe we don’t want to be doing it for too long, for the sake of everyone involved. That is not beneficial for anyone, in my opinion. “I don’t think it’s good for Harry, and I don’t think it’s good for the club, because you end up repeating yourself along the way,” he told reporters.

“On the other hand, I don’t want to set a deadline because that adds even more pressure.” You want these events to take place for the correct reasons. The reality is that he is still a contracted player at our football club, so that is how I see him. It’s not like his contract expires on August 12th and he has to make a decision; he has another year. So from that part, I am not relaxed but I am not putting pressure on him or anyone else in the football club, saying: ‘Well, we need to do this’. But I don’t think any of us want it to go on for much longer,” he continued.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: Spurs have already turned down two offers from Bayern Munich, the most recent of which was said to be approximately £68.5 million ($88 million). However, it is said that they are already planning for life without Kane and are looking into prospective replacements, with Fiorentina’s Arthur Cabral at the top of their priority list.

WHAT COMES NEXT?Kane is presently training with the Tottenham Hotspur squad in preparation for the new season, and he will face Leicester City on Sunday at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
