Tottenham were interested in Sturm Graz attacker Emanuel Emegha, according to a report that surfaced today.
We know this since L’Equipe broke the news, publishing a story about the 20-year-old committing to join Strasbourg in Ligue 1.
Following their takeover from BlueCo, the French club appears to have used their new cash to get ahead of both Tottenham and AC Milan, who were both interested in the attacker.
Strasbourg are reportedly spending €12 million for the 20-year-old, who scored 10 goals in 36 outings for Austria last season.
They are claimed to have ‘beaten the competition’ of Tottenham and the Serie A club for the Netherlands U20 international, who stands at 1m95 tall and has been tracked by the Ligue 1 club for several months.
It’s unclear whether Spurs planned to make a move during the current transfer window, but if they did, they missed their chance, as this transaction appears to be all but done, based on L’Equipe’s title and report.
