Manchester United is willing to patiently wait until next summer to sign Tottenham’s superstar

Manchester United are apparently interested in signing Harry Kane on a free transfer next summer, even though they have already signed Danish forward Rasmus Hojlund.

That’s according to Simon Jones of the Daily Mail, who believes that United would pursue Harry Kane, who has long been United’s top striker target despite being extensively linked to Bayern Munich this summer.

PSG and Bayern Munich are also interested in Kane.

According to the Daily Mail, PSG are ready to compete with Bayern for the 29-year-old’s signature, with Bayern having had two offers rejected, the most recent being in the area of £70 million with add-ons.

Daniel Levy continues to insist that Kane is not for sale, which might open the way for United to sign the attacker on a free transfer next summer if he does not commit his future to Spurs.

With Spurs chairman Daniel Levy insisting that Kane will not be moved abroad this summer, never alone to a Premier League opponent, the likelihood of United signing the forward this summer is remote.

It makes sense to have Hojlund this summer and Kane the following summer.

If United can recruit Hojlund from Atalanta this summer and then sign Kane the following summer, United will have done quite well. Kane, who would want a large signing price if he joined, would save United a lot of money in the long run, with just his salary being a concern for the Old Trafford club.

Waiting a year for your top objective is always a risk in football because there are so many changing parts. Kane could potentially decide that he wants to play in France or Germany next.

Kane certainly still wants to break Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record of 260, which he is only 47 short of.

It’s not impossible for Kane to break it in the next two seasons, so United may be the best place for Kane to smash the record and compete for the major trophies he craves. It’s a gamble worth taking for the Old Trafford club if they’re ready to wait.
