RUMOR: The Toronto Raptors have been the subject of numerous trade speculations this offseason, as Pascal Siakam’s future remains uncertain

The Boston Celtics have been linked to Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam as speculations around him swirl during the Las Vegas Summer League.

To be clear, Siakam is not said to be on the cs’ list of trade targets, though Boston Globe reporter Gary Washburn believes the 29-year-old should be considered.

However, MassLive’s Brian Robb revealed an intriguing relationship between the Celtics and Raptors that should be investigated amid the flurry of offseason rumors.

After mentioning the Raptors’ lack of point guard depth with the departures of Fred VanVleet and Dalano Banton in free agency, Robb mentions “that the Raptors showed interest in Malcolm Brogdon last year per sources before he was traded to the Celtics…”

As a result, “it’s fair to wonder whether Toronto would still be interested in him or Payton Pritchard in some type of three-team swap with players/assets from another team going to Boston and Siakam going to a third team,” Robb writes.

Brogdon, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year and the 2017 Rookie of the Year, was almost moved to the Los Angeles Clippers this offseason. Nonetheless, health concerns have made it unlikely that Brogdon will be moved to any team, let alone the Raptors.
