Bruno Fernandes message Ineos that he sold  Oyedele just for practically nothing

In the summer, Ineos sold multiple academy players who had been in and around the youth teams for years – with Maxi Oyedele among those to go.

United sold Oyedele to Legia Warsaw in Poland for just £500,000 which is dependent on how many appearances he makes for Legia.

Oyedele’s exit is said to have left Bruno shocked – and now he and the 19-year-old have linked up after Portugal beat Poland 3-1 in the Nations League.

After the game, the pair linked up in the changing rooms to get a photo and swap shirts. Bruno has posted this image to his Instagram story, along with a message.

“Happy to see you doing great things”, Bruno wrote.

This message is only further evidence of how highly Bruno rates the former United academy star.

Oyedele meanwhile is going from strength to strength, all while impressing for Legia.

As Oyedele continues to impress, at international and club levels, the decision to sell him for so cheap opposed to finding a well-placed loan looks increasingly silly.

Most impressively for Oyedele was his outing in the Europa Conference league against Real Betis.

Against the Spanish side, Oyedele was one of Legia’s standout players during the 1-0 win as he shined both on and off the ball – proving he is destined for a higher level than he is currently playing at.

So with this in mind, a return to Old Trafford in the future cannot be ruled out, but do United have a buy-back clause?

Well according to reports at the time of Oyedele’s move, United do have a buy-back for Oyedele and this is not the only clause included with a 50 per cent sell-on and also matching rights.

This foresight from United shows that Oyedele is highly regarded at the club and those in charge were keen to avoid a potentially embarrassing situation.

One day we may see Oyedele back at the club.
