BREAKING NEWS: Packers down with 2 Wide Receivers vs the Minnesota Vikings

The Green Bay Packers are expected to be down two of their wide receivers this weekend after Christian Watson and Dontayvion Wicks did not practice on Friday. Watson did not practice all week because of a hamstring injury and Wicks did not practice all week because of a chest injury.

Head coach Matt LaFleur mentioned on Thursday that Watson and Wicks both needed to practice on Friday to have any chance to play on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings (7-8). Well, it appears as if they are both going to be out for this matchup

Christian Watson will miss his fourth consecutive game with a hamstring injury and seventh overall this season. As for Dontayvion Wicks, this would be only the second game missed this season due to injury. The other game he missed this season was against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day with a concussion.

Wicks has caught 33 passes for 520 yards and two touchdowns this season. He has been targeted 51 times and is averaging 15.8 yards per catch this season.

As for Watson, he has caught 28 passes for 422 yards receiving and five touchdowns. He has been targeted 53 times and is averaging 15.1 yards per catch so far this season

With Christian Watson and Dontayvion Wicks Not Expected to Play For the Green Bay Packers Against the Minnesota Vikings Others Will Need To Step Up

Outside of Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed at wide receiver and Tucker Kraft at tight end for the Green Bay Packers, others will need to step up with Christian Watson and Dontayvion Wicks being sidelined once again.

Tight end Luke Musgrave is also practicing on Friday and he could play after missing the last few weeks because of a lacerated kidney. He was on injured reserve.

Malik Heath, Bo Melton, and Samori Toure will be some of the other receiving options for quarterback Jordan Love in the passing game

They could always run it effectively with Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon also. Not having Christian Watson once again isn’t a surprise at this point. However. not having Dontayvion Wicks will hurt this offense. There is a drop-off from Wicks to Heath in the passing game. They will miss the presence of Dontayvion Wicks in this matchup

This is a divisional game that can go either way. Both teams are 7-8, fighting for their playoff lives, and could come down to a coin flip, especially if it goes to overtime
