Lamar Jackson become MVP favorite clear his last hurdle.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Lamar Jackson and the Ravens made quite the statement on Christmas when they demolished the 49ers in Santa Clara, 33-19. In the win, Jackson completed 23 of 35 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 45 yards.

Jackson looks like the heavy favorite for the MVP with two weeks to go in the season barring a massive collapse. He already has more passing yards this season (3,357) than he did in his MVP season in 2019 (3,127) and his 66.3% completion percentage would also be the best of his career.

He also has the Ravens on a five-game winning streak and either one win or one Browns loss in the final two weeks away from giving his team the AFC North title once again.

There’s no question Jackson is as good as there is in the NFL

But there is one thing that he still has to cross off his list: playoff success.

Jackson has only one playoff win in four tries, and that came in Tennessee in 2020 in front of a crowd that was limited due to COVID-19 restrictions.
For his career, Jackson has completed just 55.9% of his passes for 900 yards, three touchdowns and five interceptions in four playoff games.
But this looks like a different Ravens team, and offensive coordinator Todd Monken has clearly unlocked a different Lamar Jackson as a passer. The AFC doesn’t have many landmines for the Ravens with the exception of the Dolphins, Bills and Browns.
It won’t be any shock if the Ravens get to, and win, the Super Bowl this season. This isn’t the Lamar Jackson from his first two seasons

He’s just a much better passer than those years.

But we know he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL when it comes to the regular season. There’s no reason he shouldn’t end the season with his second MVP in five seasons.
However, his biggest challenge will come once the regular season is over. Here is a power ranking of all 32 starting quarterbacks based on how they have performed 16 weeks into the season. Their previous ranking is in parenthesis. If a starter was injured or benched within the last week, their replacement will be listed with the previous starter in the parentheses.

32. Aidan O’Connell, Las Vegas Raiders (27)

31. Sam Howell, Washington Commanders (26, being benched for Jacoby Brissett)

30. Trevor Siemian, New York Jets (31, replaced injured Zach Wilson)

29. Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers (32)

28. Bailey Zappe, New England Patriots (30)

27. Nick Mullens, Minnesota Vikings (25
