Due to a health issue, former Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has been in the hospital for the entire week undergoing “numerous tests”.

After being let go from Bristol City at the end of the previous month, Pearson took advantage of the chance to take care of his health by spending a week in a London hospital. He updated his X page with an update on his circumstances.

In his letter, he said, “I am grateful to the amazing doctors, nurses, staff, and medical students at Kings College Hospital in London, where I am spending this week while undergoing a battery of tests to help determine my course of treatment in the hopes of recovering completely.

While Pearson was still leading the Robins, he stated in an interview with BBC Radio Bristol last month: “I know people know that I need a back op and that hasn’t changed, but that’s not really the main problem for me at the moment.”

“It’s a neurological condition, but I haven’t heard anything yet about the prognosis. The good news, in my opinion, is that every dark possibility—cancer, for example—has been ruled out.”

“I don’t want to stretch it out over five or six weeks,” he continued. It’s just one of those instances where we have to look elsewhere because my symptoms don’t match the back scan results.

I am waiting to hear about the next course of action. Naturally, the most crucial thing in the interim is that our staff members continue to collaborate closely in order to ensure that the players always come first, and I promise to always put the needs of the players first.

“On a personal level it’s a bit frustrating but on a professional level it’s just something you’ve got to deal with.”

The 2008–2010 and 2011–2015 seasons were the former Leicester manager’s two stints in command of the team. During his two stints, he won League One and the Championship, and following the Foxes’ “Great Escape” campaign, he sealed City’s place in the Premier League.
