Nottingham Forest and the 26-year-old Brazilian center back “agree” to sign him.

The 26-year-old Brazilian center back Nino from Fluminense has reached an agreement to join Nottingham Forest.

Steve Cooper’s team has already reached an agreement to sign the defender, and the captain of Fluminense will join at the end of the current campaign, according to UOL and reports from Vamo Fluminense.

The 26-year-old defender was part of the Brazilian national team during the most recent international break, demonstrating how highly regarded he is in his native country.

If Nino’s transfer to the Reds is finalized, he will join Felipe, Danilo, Andrey Santos, and Murillo as the team’s fifth Brazilian at the City Ground.

Who is Nino’s target at Nottingham Forest?
Known by his nickname Nino, Marcilio Florencio Mota Filho left Criciúma to join Fluminese, a Brazilian team, in 2019. He played 236 games for the team.

The 26-year-old defender has flourished in the Brazilian first division and is an integral member of the team that made it to the Copa Libertadores final this year.

The defender was linked to moves as recently as the summer to join teams in Saudi Arabia and Turkey, Besiktas and Al-Shabab, respectively.

Nino, whose transfer to the Premier League is rumored to be nearing completion, chose instead to remain in Brazil.

Could Nino take the same route as Murillo?
Cooper’s team spent £13 million in the summer to acquire Brazilian team Corinthians’ Murillo, a 21-year-old defender who made an immediate impact by starting in just his second matchup against Crystal Palace.

The Athletic earlier this week revealed that the Reds were considering signing a second Brazilian defender in light of Murillo’s immediate impact.

The 26-year-old Nino could be the player the Reds choose to sign since he will be playing for Forest against Boca Juniors on Saturday night in the Libertadores final.
