An ice hockey player who was killed in an accident during a game off…..

Support is being extended to fellow students of an ice hockey player who died in an accident during a game. On Saturday, October 28, Adam Johnson, a 29-year-old player for the Nottingham Panthers, was involved in a collision with a rival player that resulted in his death.

His death’s inquest was set to begin today, November 3, but it was postponed until January of next year while the investigation is ongoing. Adam was a student at the university’s Loughborough Business School. He was born in Minnesota.

Following the incident, the school posted a statement on its website that said, “We are very sad to inform you that Adam Johnson, a student from the Loughborough Business School, has passed away. You will all be familiar with Adam.

“We send our deepest sympathies to Adam’s teammates and family. We are aware that many of you on campus may have known Adam, and we are praying for you during this trying time.”

The senior coroner, Tanyka Rawden, expressed her condolences to Adam’s family and friends and provided a brief account of his death as the inquest got underway at the Medico-Legal Centre in Sheffield. “Mr. Johnson was seriously injured,” she stated.

“After being transported by ambulance to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield, he passed away from his wounds later that day. Ryan Wolfe, his fiancée, gave him away.”

According to South Yorkshire Police, the investigation “will take some time” into the incident. There will be an inquest review on Friday, January 26.
