Deshaun Watson’s fellow former Cleveland Browns quarterback, who was brought in to play savior to a team doomed (or committed?) to self-destruct in ever more inventive ways, is the only person on earth who can truly relate to him. Since the team’s 1999 rebirth, the Browns have started 36 — yes, 36 — men at their most crucial position, including Watson and even though, to borrow from Junior Soprano, the majority of them never had the potential to be NFL starters, nearly all of them were further damaged by the Browns’ infamous incapacity to assemble a strong supporting cast, select a competent head coach, or do both.

Brady Quinn

Brady Quinn was No. 11 out of those 36, and he should have some knowledge of Watson’s current situation because he started twelve games for Cleveland in 2008 and 2009—the gloomy years when Romeo Crennel and Eric Mangini [Ed. note: Hey Jets fans, remember him?] were in charge of running the Browns aground on Lake Erie. You understand, then, why the rest of the football world responded, “Holy sh*t, not you fam,” when Quinn went off on Watson on social media this week, starting a Twitter feud between Watson and Quincy Avery, Watson’s personal quarterback coach.
