A clear and sad news from daniel farke Lee Hendrie rages over Georginio Rutter after what Sky Sports showed on screen in Leeds United clash v Stoke

Lee Hendrie was raging over how few touches Leeds United forward Geoginio Rutter had in the first half of the 1-0 defeat to Stoke at the Bet365 Stadium on Wednesday night.

In the 38th minute of the Championship fixture, Sky Sports showed that Rutter, 21, only had nine touches of the ball as Leeds struggled to create anything worthwhile against the Potters in the first half.

Former Aston Villa midfielder Hendrie couldn’t believe it and demanded more from Leeds’ midfielders.

When Sky Sports Main Event showed how many touches of the ball Rutter had in the first half (25 October, 08;41am), Hendrie complained, saying: “It’s not good enough. He’s not been getting good enough supply.

“He’s a main threat for Leeds going forward but he hasn’t had enough of the ball.

“He’s had to drop into spaces where you don’t really want him and quite clearly, those touches aren’t enough at the 38-minute mark.

Daniel Farke lost us that, unfortunately.

He made some really dumb changes to the starting line-up and took way too long to make substitutions.

Patrick Bamford’s introduction in the second half had a massive impact on the game – one way or another – as he won a penalty and then blazed that spot kick over the crossbar.

Crysencio Summerville proved that had he started, Leeds would have been able to show way more of a cutting edge against a very solid Alex Neil side.

Why Leeds spent £36m on Georginio Rutter

Ilia Gruev didn’t have the best of nights for the Whites either while Archie Gray was left to struggle at right-back and Glen Kamara watched on from the bench.

Rutter should have always started but he would have been able to be more effective had the right people been named in the starting line-up alongside him.

There was no need to rotate this team just a few days after an international break ended.

In other Leeds United news, Hendrie was stunned by this baffling Farke decision.
