It’s not often that athletes at the pinnacle of their careers become available for what appears to be a steal, but in this case, having only 18 months left on his current contract when it expires in January marks a potential dilemma for the player’s current club.

The striker in question is Ivan Toney, and according to the Daily Mirror, he has already informed Brentford that he wishes to quit the club.

At 27, and with an enviable scoring record prior to his eight-month suspension for numerous betting violations, it’s easy to see why Brentford’s London rivals would be interested.

CaughtOffside journalist and former’super agent,’ Jon Smith, knows the Toney family intimately, and underlined in a recent exclusive story that Arsenal are looking for an out and out striker, with Toney meeting the description.

Tottenham are performing well without Harry Kane as their striker, and if Richarlison performs well, they may not need Toney. However, for £60 million, they should at least be considered.

Chelsea, meanwhile, has struggled to find the back of the net this season, netting only five goals according to the official Premier League website – the joint third lowest in the division.
