Head coach Steve Cooper lauded Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner. On Saturday, Liverpool will face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
During the summer transfer window, Forest lured Turner away from Arsenal. He only played seven games for Arsenal in a single season, all of which were in cup competitions.
He was 29 years old and anxious for first-team football. The guy is the number one goalkeeper for the USA national team and will want to keep that position.
Cooper is really happy with his summer buy. He’s been gushing over the guy who cost the club £10 million from the Premier League team that finished second last season.
“Everyone knew at the end of last season that we needed to add to the goalkeeping part of the squad,” Cooper told BBC Sport. I believe we are in a good position right now. It has now become a highly competitive part of the squad.
“Matt has settled in and fully embraced the club’s values.” He is a pleasure to work with, and I am very pleased with him.
“I won’t say too much because you want your goalkeeper to perform well in the next game, but let’s hope he does.”
