Former Aston Villa star Anwar El Ghazi is set to complete a move to Bundesliga outfit FSV Mainz.
The 28-year-old ended his four-year association with Villa last summer to return to his homeland and join PSV. He played a total of 33 games and scored nine goals for the Dutch outfit before departing the club by mutual consent this summer.
El Ghazi was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia as well as Manchester United earlier this month. The Athletic claims Birmingham City were among the Championship clubs who “considered” a move for the winger.
