Newcastle United are monitoring AFC Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly, according to reports. Football Insider say the Magpies are interested in the 24-year-old who will be in out of contract at the Vitality Stadium in the summer.
The Cherries could well decide to cash in on the centre-back in the January window or risk losing him for nothing. Liverpool and Tottenham are believed to be interested in Kelly who was signed by Newcastle boss Howe back in 2019.
An injury meant he played only nine times under Howe, and he has also represented England Under-21s.
Newcastle United summer target Nicolo Barella could be available for £77m next summer, according to reports. The Magpies were keen on the Inter midfielder, but opted to sign AC Milan’s Sandro Tonali instead.
However, with clubs such as Chelsea and Liverpool also continuing to track his progress, CaughtOffside report that the Italian star could be on the move in the 2024 summer window. Whether Newcastle are still looking to strengthen that area – and whether the fee meets their budget – remains to be seen.
