Wolves lost their latest Premier League game to Crystal Palace – and there has since been some more criticism of Gary O’Neil’s side in the final third.
Wanderers did OK on the ball in parts of the game.
They managed to get the ball into the final third fairly well at times.
But once there, the issues that have plagued Wolves for so long were once again on show.
The final scoreline may have been 3-2.
But Wolves had plenty of openings and opportunities to test Palace goalkeeper Sam Johnstone and didn’t act on them.
But in the eyes of former midfielder Dave Edwards, there are two players at O’Neil’s disposal who could change the game for Wolves
Ditto Matheus Cunha, who did end up scoring but with one of the very last touches of the game.
It may be that O’Neil is considering making changes against Liverpool.
And Edwards believes Hwang Hee-chan and Sasa Kalajdzic both look like they can create and score goals for Wolves.
He wrote in his latest Express & Star column: “The confusion he (Kalajdzic) causes defenders – we saw it at Everton and again against Palace. They are so worried about getting close to him, that it brings other players in and that showed for Matheus Cunha’s goal.
“Hwang Hee-chan is also looking like a goal-scorer again. He gets into good areas and gets across his man. His movement was very good for his goal on Sunday. Hwang and Kalajdzic look like they can create and score goals for Wolves.”
Hwang and Kalajdzic have started well
A lot of Wolves fans will be wanting to see this pairing unleashed after the international break.
Hwang is arguably Wolves’ most natural finisher at the moment.
The South Korean has two in the Premier League so far, and does take up some great positions in the box.
He is a quick and powerful player, and he really ought to be starting against Liverpool if he is fully fit.
And he could be really good in a partnership with Kalajdzic as the target man.
Hwang excelled at RB Salzburg playing alongside Erling Haaland, and this could be a similar dynamic
