Player wolves  set to sign now left out of squad just hours after deadline

Wolves made a bid for Boulaye Dia on Thursday which was rejected by Salernitana, now he’s been left out of their squad.

The forward was high on Wolves’ list of priorities in the forward position along with Southampton’s Che Adams.

Wolves had submitted an offer to loan Dia with the view to making the move permanent at the end of the season.

This offer was rejected by the Serie A side according to Sébastien Denis but this wasn’t something the player was too pleased by.

It was reported that Dia was keen on moving to Molineux and was therefore disappointed to see his club deny him.

Dia left out of Salernitana squad

Dia’s eagerness to leave clearly hasn’t gone well with Salernitana as he has now been excluded from the club’s squad for their Sunday game.

Fabrizio Romano claimed that the reason was due to his reaction to the rejection.

He posted on X:

“Boulaye Dia has not been called up by Salernitana for tomorrow’s game after his reaction when club decided not to sell him to Wolves.

“Official bid revealed here yesterday was submitted on Thursday night, turned down by Salernitana”.

Could Wolves revisit a deal?

With Dia clearly now unsettled at Salernitana, it is possible that Wolves could return for him in January when the Italians may be more open to a move.

Wolves didn’t get their striker in the end and therefore Dia will be hoping he remains in their minds for the next window.

The one caveat however could be that if Sasa kicks on and starts performing, the striker slot could be filled.

However should Old Gold still want a forward come January, we are sure Dia will be at the top of their list.
