Nottingham forest agree to sign super star  player form another club

Nicolas Dominguez has agreed a potential £13 million move to the Premier League with Nottingham Forest set to sign midfielder from Serie A outfit Bologna.

The futures of both Nicolas Dominguez and Sofyan Amrabat have been strangely intertwined this summer.

According to reports, Fiorentina had initially identified the former as a replacement for the latter. And with Alfredo Pedulla now claiming that the aforementioned Amrabat has turned down an initial £17 million move to Nottingham Forest, it could be Dominguez who instead fills that spot in Steve Cooper’s City Ground midfield.

Because while Amrabat obviously had reservations about joining Nottingham Forest – the Moroccan maestro is holding out for Manchester United instead – those doubts do not appear to be shared by Dominguez.

Bologna value Dominguez at £13 million. But Forest could land him for less with Remo Freuler reportedly returning to Italy as part of the deal. Freuler only moved to the East Midlands from Atalanta in 2022. But he has not played a single minute of Premier League football this term, losing his starting spot after a dip in form during the final few months of last season.

Dominguez, at 25, is six years Freuler’s junior. He also has 11 caps for Argentina. And his all-round, all-action skillset could make him an immediate fans’ favourite at Forest. Dominguez scored three goals and set up two more in Serie A last term. He also picked up 10 yellow cards while averaging 2.5 successful tackles per game.

Dominguez’s Bologna contract expires in less than 12 months’ time. And with the tough-tackling midfielder seemingly set on a fresh start elsewhere, Rossoblu boss Thiago Motta dropped him from the starting line up against Juventus at the weekend.

That they are two important players is clear to everyone,” Motta told TMW of Dominguez and Jerdy Schouten.

The latter has since completed a move to PSV Eindhoven.

“I don’t want unhappy players,” Motta adds. “I want players who give their all for the team. These decisions have little to do with me, they have more to do with the management.”
